This small poncho is handknit using approximately 8.5 oz./345 yards of two-ply, handspun yarn. The yarn is a 50/50 silk/wool blend from Lambspun of Colorado called "Silver Bullet". The pattern, greatly enlarged, was adapted from a doily pattern called "Kreuzlblute" in the booklet "Old World Treasures" by Gloria Penning. It was completed during a trip through Alaskašs Inside Passage in July/August 2004 and given to daughter Christie McDiffett on the occasion of her twenty-second birthday, August 13, 2004. |
