Maryann's Lace Scarf
drapedscarf

This LONG lace scarf (approxi-mately 82 inches) was made in April 2009 as a gift for dear friend, Maryann Ewald, who makes it possible for me to attend the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival each year by allowing me to stay at her home, which is nearby.

The fiber in the scarf was purchased at the 2008 festival as potential necktie material for Maryann’s husband, Bill.  Maryann liked the colors, though, and they became hers.  Who knew the scarf would get that long when it was blocked!  Good for wrapping or doubling and threading the ends through the loop, as is fashionable now.

The yarn is a handspun blend of 50% alpaca, 30% merino wool, and 20% silk.  The scarf weighs 1.4 ounces, and used approximately 341.25 yards of two-ply yarn.
