Classic Cardigan

This commissioned traditional man's raglan-sleeve cardigan is made of New Zealand Romney wool grown by Vincent Van den Dorpe in the Canterbury region of New Zealand and imported expressly for this piece. The fleece was hand washed, each lock hand combed, and the whole hand spun and hand knitted during the winter and spring of 2002. The color variations are a result of the natural coloring of the fleece and were preserved by the hand-combing process. Approximately 1,950 yards of two-ply yarn were used in this 1.5-pound sweater.

The first four "Harry Potter" books were read while knitting this piece!
