Aran Forest

This large, heavy, warm sweater was great fun to make as I watched trees, fenceposts, flowers, clouds, and even a pond emerge in the textured stitches. It is made of a three-ply yarn that is two-thirds New Zealand Romney and one third New Zealand mohair. The buttons are New Zealand rimu wood, which is not endangered. The pattern is the "Enchanted Aran Forest" designed by DKNY and published in the Fall 1992 issue of Vogue Knitting magazine.
