This cropped, three-quarter-length-sleeve cardigan is a Forest House Fiberworks original. It was made from two Lambspun of Colorado purple wool/silk mixtures. Each batch was a slightly different color; both had small amounts of “glitz” added to the fiber for subtle sparkle. A two-ply yarn was created using one ply of each mixture, leading to a very slight heathery effect in the finished product. The scoop neck has a simple crochet picot edge. The buttons are antique black glass in four different designs, but all the same size and “feel”, due to their slightly iridescent finish. The project would have been finished several months sooner, but it took that long to find the right buttons (special buttons are a hallmark of Forest House Fiberworks). The cardigan weighs 8.6 ounces (without the buttons) and used approximately 860 yards of yarn. It was completed during the summer of 2004. |
