Ginny's Shawlette

This little shoulder shawl is made of a blend of dyed wool (navy) and shredded silk waste (from the weaving of kimonos).  Shawlettes can give a little warmth to neck and shoulders, or be worn as just a decorative accessory.

Ginny’s Shawlette was made in June of 2005 as a small thank-you and birthday gift for Ginny McGirr, who graciously hosted my daughter in her home for six weeks of the summer of 2004 from the start of Christie’s new job in July until September 1, when her apartment lease began.  Hospitality like that can never really be repaid.

The pattern is adapted from “Eyelet & Garter/A Shapely Shawlette” from Contemporary Concepts by Judy, designed by Judy Pascale, 2002.
